API 2009 CONGRESS OPENING LETTER

Dear Infectologists,

In April 2009 we will have the pleasure of hosting the XIV Pan American Congress of Infectology at the majestic Convention Center in the city of Campos de Jordão, São Paulo, located 160 kilometers from São Paulo's International Airport - Guarulhos.

The scientific program will be strongly academic and will approach current themes in infectology addressed by outstanding Brazilian and Latin American infectologists, in addition to other international guests who will highlight this scientific meeting.

Our scientific committee has worked hard to prepare the program that will emphasize current themes with an interactive approach among the participants, with roundtables, conferences, discussion of clinical cases, colloquia and breakfast with the specialist.

In addition to our scientific updating, the city of Campos de Jordão provides several tourist attractions such as trails, a pleasant climate throughout the year and an outstanding level gastronomy, considered one of the best in Brazil. Crafts and local products are an invitation for quality product shopping.

The city will be prepared to receive all of our Congress delegates, which counts on the support of local public entities and Campos do Jordão's Convention Bureau.
